Chris Cracknell is Chief Executive of OCS Group, the facilities services company that operates across five continents, with over 91,000 employees. Founded over 100 years ago, sales exceeded £870m in the year to March 2014 – around a quarter of which came from operations in Asia Pacific. Chris joined OCS Group in 1977 after holding posts in the UK and overseas and was appointed to the Group Board in 1985. He was responsible for emerging companies and international development, including Thailand and New Zealand, which remain two of the largest and most significant international contributors to the Group’s results and profitability. OCS Group ranked 71 in the Sunday Times Top Track 100 in June 2014. In April 2015, OCS Group received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Chris is a Director of the Institute for Family Business and a Governor at Eastbourne College, as well as being involved in various other external positions. He is a former Director and Treasurer of the World Federation of Building Services and an immediate past Chair of the Building Futures Group previously known as Asset Skills the industry skills body for facilities management, housing, property, planning, cleaning and parking markets.
Whilst expanding all aspects of business interests, Chris has also established and supported a wide range of sustainable community initiatives including the OCS Young Sports Person Awards, providing financial support to emerging sporting youngsters and the PCS Foundation, providing educational scholarships to communities and staff, and, through their representation on the Board of the Thailand Business Coalition on Aids, also provide much needed help, awareness and training to the communities in the fight against HIV and Aids. In India, support is provided to the Wells for India initiative, increasing the availability of potable water and a number of Cancer charities in the UK, Australia and New Zealand also benefit from donations and campaigns.
